Q: Where is the Prince William Sound? A: The Prince William Sound is in the North East corner of the Gulf of Alaska, on the east side of the Kenai Peninsula. 

Q: Where is the harbor? A: Whittier, AK is one of the two ports to access directly into the Prince William Sound and the closest one to Anchorage where most travelers fly in to the Ted Stevens International Airport.

Q: Where is Whittier? A: Whittier is a one hour or 56 mile drive south of Anchorage, head south on the Seward Highway and make the turn onto Portage Glacier Rd. and take it to the end of the road. There is a tunnel with a fee and a schedule so make sure you time it right! 

Q: What is the Whittier tunnel schedule?  The Whitter tunnel is a one lane tunnel that is the only way to access the town of Whitter by road. Traffic is allowed through each direction every hour at a scheduled time. The schedule can be found here. There is a fee station at the entrance, on the Portage side. The fee of $13.00 covers your exit for when you leave Whitter.

Q: How many people can go? The Veronica Mae can take up to six passengers. However, it can only sleep four, which means for multiday trips, there is a four person max.

Q: What type of trips does your charter business offer? A: Our charter business offers a wide range of guided marine in the Prince William Sound. This includes fishing trips, sightseeing tours, wildlife watching, kayaking, spearfishing, and backcountry skiing.

Q: Are there any specific types of fish that can be caught on your fishing trips? A: On our fishing trips, we target a variety of fish species including lingcod, rockfish, and salmon.

Q: How experienced do I need to be to participate in the activities offered by your charter business? A: No prior experience is required for most of the activities we offer. Our guides are experienced and will provide instruction and guidance throughout the trip.

Q: What is included in the cost of a charter trip? A: Our charter trips include all necessary gear, accommodations, and a knowledgeable guide to help you navigate the waters and make the most of your adventure(spearfishing/diving excluded)

Q: Are meals included in the cost of a charter trip? A: Overnight trips get meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We love to cook fresh fish on the barbeque! 

Q: Can I customize my trip? A: Yes, we offer a variety of customizable packages to suit different interests, skill levels, and group sizes.

Q: Do you offer overnight trips? A: Yes, we offer overnight trips with sleeping arrangements for 4 people.

Q: What is the minimum and maximum group size? A: The minimum group size is usually 2 people, and the maximum group size varies depending on the activity and boat capacity.

Q: What is your cancellation policy? A: Our cancellation policy varies depending on the trip, please contact us for more information.

Q: What should I bring on a charter trip? A: We will provide a packing list for each trip, but you should bring appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and any personal items you may need.
